2012 Resolutions

I'm typically not one to make resolutions every new year, but this year I must.

For 2012, I resolve to:
1.  Make my coffee at home.  Starbucks, I love you, but you're draining me.
2.  Excercise, diet...starve myself.  Whatever it takes to fit into my bridesmaid dress on June 9, 2012.
3.  Get passport so I can wear the said dress.
4.  Learn to load my Diana.  I've had Diana since May and I've yet to use her.
5.  Go skiing.  I don't remember the last time I went skiing, but I do know it's time!

Falling in Love with Phoenix

{K} and I had been dating for a few months and one night he said to me, "I'm falling in love with you, but I'm not in love with you."  Charming.

Anyway, that is how I feel about Phoenix.  I live in the fifth largest city in the country and all I ever wanted was a little character and charm.  Obviously my pleas have been heard.  Here is my eclectic list of places to check out in 2011...all right here in Phoenix.

Get your buzz on at this coffee shop, or this one {I LOVE COFFEE}, or here {see previous note}.
Buy a gift at this lovely little gift shop.
Craving sweets? Check out this {AH-DORABLE} candy store. And you can host your child's birthday party right there. In the store.  How great is that?
Hosting a quaint dinner party? Shop this market for the vittles.
I LOVE WINE AND CHEESE TOO!

And the best part?  They're all local!

Mismatched Socks

Wednesday, December 29, 2010: The demise of my day job and the dawn of Mismatched Socks.  Anyone who knows me is aware that I want to make a career out of my passion...but finding my passion is proving to be more challenging than expected. This morning  I woke up {late} and while getting {G} ready for school, realized he did not have a clean pair of matching socks.  {G} thought this was an abominable crime against the world of fashion {enter crying, wailing and throwing himself on the floor}. So right now, I'm suffering from mommy guilt because my little boy is at school wearing one green sock and one orange sock...but because of it, I'm on the brink of something fabulous.  I still don't know what that something is, but at least I have a great name.

Giving Thanks

I LOVE Thanksgiving.  Everything about it.  The tradition, the family...and of course the yummy food!  I am so thankful for my {K} and {G}.  They mean the world to me.  I hope you are spending Thanksgiving with the people who matter most.  Gobble Gobble!

Suds & Duds

{KGB} has never had official family pictures taken.

I thought now would be a good time to have this done.

Why did nobody remind me that {G} is on the brink of turning 2?

If you're looking for a sweet photographer with great style, check out the lovely Angel Cupp.

Ba Ba!

I suspect after an acid trip gone awry {the only justification for this show}, the creators of the childrens television series Yo Gabba Gabba utilized the one brain cell left between them and concocted what {G} affectionately refers to as Ba Ba!

The two redeeming qualities, in my opinion, are the guest appearances ~ Jack Black, The Shins, Tony Hawk, Supernova, Biz Markie, The Aquabats and the Ting Tings {to name a few}... and the name Yo Gabba Gabba, was supposedly derived from the chant "Gabba Gabba Hey", by The Ramones.

Every night at 8:30, we tune in...and this is what happens.

A Blog is Born

Let me first introduce KGB, not to be confused with the Soviet Union's super secret police organization.

{K} is for Kevin. Kevin is my fabulous husband of almost four years.

{G) is for Gavin. Gavin is my wonderful son of almost two years.

And {B}...

{B} is for Beth ~ the author of KGB Chronicles, a lucky wife and blessed mother.

2010 brings Kevin and me four years of marital bliss, Gavin's terrible twos...and this blog.
